How to Keep Good Health
The condition of our body and mind is called health. Health may be good or bad. Good health refers to a healthy body which is free from any kinds of diseases and the soundness of the mind. It is a must for all to lead a happy and peaceful life.
Good health is very necessary for us. If our health is not good, we cannot concentrate on any activities in our life. Health is equal to wealth. Sometimes, it is more than wealth. Any material wealth is valueless without good health. A poor healthy man is happier than a sick moneyed man.
If one is not healthy, one cannot enjoy one’s vast wealth and property. So, keeping ourselves in good health is essential and to keep ourselves healthy, we have to maintain certain things. Taking balanced diet is important of all. Without taking balanced diet, we can never be healthy.
We have to avoid overeating as well. The next important thing is physical exercise. Regular physical exercise can keep our body fit for work. Our body becomes feeble and disease-prone without physical exercise. Walking, running and swimming are some useful forms of physical exercise.
Punctuality and maintaining daily routine are also fruitful activities. Going to bed early and rising early are very useful for good health. Finally, hygiene or cleanliness can help us a lot possess good health.

Dangers of Smoking
Smoking is a kind of addiction. It is the act or habit of smoking cigarettes or a pipe. Cigarettes are made from tobacco leaves. Smoking is a slow poisoning but gradually leads smokers to death. There are many serious harmful effects of smoking.
It is highly injurious to health. It offends the nose and irritates the eyes of a smoker. It causes many serious diseases. Even it causes the fatal disease like cancer. Heart disease, lunge cancer, asthma, bronchitis etc affect a smoker severely and gradually lead him to death.
Besides, severe bad smell of smoke is highly irritating and harmful for other non-smokers. Especially, children are dangerously affected by smoking. A single puff of cigarette contains about 15 billion injurious particles. Some of the harmful particles are nicotine, methyl alcohol, carbon monoxide etc.
If we douse a cigarette in a cup of water and give it to any small animal to drink, we will see that the animal will die within a minute. Smoking is nothing but a silent killer. Smoker smokes in order to be free from tension but they do not know that they actually fall in tension for smoking.
We should give up it as soon as possible. Controlling mind, avoiding bad company making a firm determination etc are the effective ways of giving up smoking.

Folk Songs of Bangladesh Or Traditional Music of Bangladesh
Folk songs are our old traditional songs. They are sung with traditional musical instruments in the traditional style of a community or country. Here the traditional style includes the themes, words and tunes of the songs that have existed for a long time among the common people.
For example, the people of Rajshahi, Mymansingh have their own traditional songs. Sometimes, the writers or the lyricist of many folk songs are not found. They have existed still today through oral tradition. Our folk songs have their significance. They reflect our root, tradition and old culture.
We remember our own traditional culture through them. We have a rich history and collection of folk songs. Nakshi Kantha Or A Traditional Craft of Bangladessh
A kind of embroidered quilt is called Nakshi Kantha. The name came from the Bengali word ‘naksha’ which means design or artistic pattern. Nakshi Kantha is a traditional craft. It is said that Nakshi Kantha is indigenous to Bangladesh and West Bengal in India.
The art has been practiced in the rural areas of Bangladesh for centuries. Normal ‘Kantha’ without colourful design has been also used here as a common bed equipment. Our rural poet Jashim Unddin published his famous poem ‘Nakshi Kanthar Math’ in 1929.
Since then ‘Nakshi Kantha’ became very popular. Traditional ‘Nakshi Kanthas’ patterns are made for family use. Cloth and thread are used to make these quilt or ‘Kanthas’. Old cloth is mostly used for this. The districts which are most prominent for ‘Nakshi Kanthas’ are Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Rajshahi, Magura, Faridpur, Bogra and Jessore.

Bangladeshi Cuisines Or Common Foods of Bangladesh
The things which we eat to live are called foods and cuisine means a style of cooking. Bangladesh is famous for different cuisines with her traditional food items. Our cuisine is rich and spicy. We have delicious and appetizing food snacks and sweets. Our main food is boiled rice.
We eat rice with vegetables, curry, lentil soups, fish and meat. Fish-curry is very common in Bangladesh and it is the main source of our protein. Our ponds, lakes, rivers, bay, ‘bil’, ‘jhil’, ‘haor’, ‘baor’ etc. are the sources of fish.
We eat more than forty kinds of fishes. ‘Rui’, ‘katla’, ‘magur (catfish)’, ‘chingri (prawn)’, ‘carp’, ‘talapia’, ‘koi’ ‘ilish (hilsha fish)’ are some of the common fishes. Hilsha and dried fishes are very popular among the people of Bangladesh. Dried fishes are called ‘ Shutki’ here. We observe our New Year’s Day with ‘Panta ilish’.
It is a traditional pattern of ‘Panta bhat’ which is made from boiled rice soaked in water. ‘Hilsha slice’ along with dried fish, pickles, lentil soup, green chilies and onion are servrd with ‘Panta bhat’.
Sweets and ‘Pitha’ are common foods which are specially served in different ceremonies and festivals. Basically, ‘Pitha’ is a kind of sweet made at home from rice flour, date juice, sugar syrup, molasses and milk. ‘Bhapa pitha’, ‘Kulshi pitha’, ‘Patishapta’, ‘Chitai pitha’ are some of the common pithas in our country.
Besides, some popular sweets are ‘rosgulla’, ‘sandesh’, ‘rasamalai’, ‘gulap jamun’, ‘kal jamun’ and ‘chom-chom’. We are fond and proud of our cuisines.
